With Jodie Whittaker as the 13th Doctor in Doctor Who, let’s hope River Song “hello Sweetie”-s her way back into the series.
Everyone — and I do mean everyone — has had some kind of reaction to learning that Doctor Who‘s titular Doctor will finally be regenerating into a female form.
Jodie Whittaker (Broadchurch, Attack the Block) has been chosen for the honor, unveiled in a thrilling video that aired during Wimbledon.
Past and present Doctor Who stars have been making their voices heard, with Arthur Darvill posting a simple “Yes Jodie” and Billie Piper writing, “YES ? xx.”
Alex Kingston, aka River Song, aka the Doctor’s wife, actually found out about Whittaker’s casting live on stage while attending Raleigh Supercon, and luckily the moment was captured on camera (via RadioTimes):

It seems to take her a moment before she realizes how huge this is, saying, “Oh my — oh that’s so exciting!”
