Disney+: Hawkeye next Avenger to get limited series treatment

By Hypable Staff

Looks like Hawkeye is the next Avenger who’s about to get the small screen treatment as part of Disney’s new streaming platform.

According to Variety, a live action series centered on Hawkeye is officially in the works over at Disney+.

News of the upcoming limited series comes from an unnamed source close to the project. As of this time, Disney and Marvel have declined to comment on the matter.

As with the handful of other Marvel limited series coming down the pipeline at Disney+, the show would find big screen star Jeremy Renner returning to reprise his role as Hawkeye, who’s real name is Clint Barton.

So what’ll the series entail? According to Variety’s source, limited series is rumored to find Clint taking Kate Bishop under his wing in an effort to pass the Hawkeye baton off to her.

Fans of Marvel comics will undoubtedly be excited to hear that the next chapter in Clint’s story will include Kate Bishop. In the comics, she serves as Hawkeye’s successor and eventually becomes part of a group known as the Young Avengers.

Hawkeye isn’t the only Avenger getting the limited series treatment as part of Disney+’s original content slate.

Over the past few months, we’ve gotten confirmation that the upcoming streaming platform will also boast limited series centered around Loki, Vision and Scarlet Witch, and Falcon and Winter Solder.

All of the aforementioned series will find the actors who portray the Marvel characters on the big screen returning to reprise their roles on the small screen.
