‘Raya and the Last Dragon’ trailer introduces fans to the film’s titular warrior

The first trailer for Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon is finally here, and it’s bound to get you even more excited to check out the studio’s latest animated feature!

Disney’s next animated feature film will find viewers journeying to the fantasy word of Kumandra where humans and dragons live together in harmony.

But Kumandra’s in danger, and it’s up to Raya (voiced by Star Wars vet Kelly Marie Tran) to save it. In an effort to protect Kumandra, the lone warrior sets off on a mission to track down the legendary last dragon in an effort to save her home and unite its lands.

Disney fans itching to find out more about the titular character in Raya and the Last Dragon need look no further than the first trailer for the film, which hit the internet today (October 21).

The action-packed trailer offers up a fantastic introduction to Raya, and her skillset as a trained warrior. It also gives us a fun first look at her trusty pal, Tuk Tuk, who’ll be joining her on her mission.

“My whole life, I trained to become a guardian of the dragon gem, but this world has changed,” explains Raya. “And its people are divided. Now, to restore peace, I must find the last dragon.”

Long ago, in the fantasy world of Kumandra, humans and dragons lived together in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well.
