Monsters At Work piggybacks off of Mike and Sulley’s discovery from the movie that children’s laughter generates ten times more energy than screams. The animated series begins the day after the Monsters, Incorporated power plant started harvesting the laughter of children to fuel Monstropolis.
This time around, the story centers on Taylor Tuskmon (Ben Feldman)— an eager young monster who graduated top of his class at Monsters University, and always dreamed of becoming a Scarer. Unfortunately once Tylor gets hired at Monsters, Incorporated, he discovers that screams are out, and laughter is in. Now reassigned to the Facilities Team, he must work alongside a misfit bunch of mechanics while setting his sights on becoming a Jokester.
Behind the scenes, the series features a star studded voice cast which includes Ben Feldman, Bonnie Hunt, Mindy Kaling, Henry Winkler, Lucas Neff, Alanna Ubach, John Goodman, and Billy Crystal.
Monsters at Work premieres via Disney+ on July 7.
