The first trailer for Disney’s Cruella starring Emma Stone is here, and it’s bound to get you incredibly excited to check out the upcoming live-action movie.
Cruella de Vil might be one of the most infamous Disney villains around. But long before she was kinapping 101 dalmatian puppies for her own personal gain, the wickedly fashionable baddie was just a devilishly clever girl.
In Cruella, Disney delves into the titular villain’s origin story, picking up with the character when she’s nothing but a young grifter named Estella (Academy Award winner Emma Stone).
Set in the 1970s amidst the punk rock revolution in London, the film follows Estella as she sets about trying to make a name for herself with her fashion designs. Along the way, she befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief.
Things take a turn for Estella when she meets fashion legend Baroness von Hellman (Emma Thompson). But the downward spiral begins shortly after the two women form a friendship that serves as the catalyst that will eventually find Estella transforming into the revenge-hungry Cruella.
