The first full trailer for Narcos: Mexico is finally here, and it has Diego Luna and Michael Peña in a deadly game of cat and mouse.
Netflix’s drug drama, Narcos has captivated audiences since 2015, telling the story of Columbia’s deadly drug industry. However, in Narcos: Mexico, the show will be covering the deadly origins of the drug war in Mexico, specifically focusing on the drug lord Felix Gallardo, the founder of the deadly Guadalajara Cartel. Netflix released the first full trailer of this explosive new season, and we got to see our first real look at Diego Luna as Gallardo and Michael Peña as DEA agent Kiki Camarena.
While Diego Luna frequently plays characters that you can’t help but love, especially recently with his work as Captain Cassian Andor in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, this is breaking new ground for the actor. Luna brings an extreme intensity and deadly energy to the role of one of the most infamous drug lords, and we can’t wait to see him embody such an infamous person.
Meanwhile, Michael Peña is taking over the role as the DEA agent out to stop the drug trade in its tracks. While the Columbian chapter of Narcos had Pedro Pascal and Boyd Holbrook playing the DEA agents we followed as they worked to stop Pablo Escobar and the kingpins behind the Cali Cartel, Peña plays real-life DEA agent Kiki Camarena who worked to stop Gallardo in his tracks and ultimately had a hand in shaping the drug war for years to come.
This show is going to be amazing, and with talented actors like Diego Luna and Michael Peña facing off at the helm, we’re sure this show will suck you in right away. Narcos: Mexico will premiere only on Netflix on November 16.
