In a press release sent out on Monday (July 6), the online streaming giant announced that while Dead to Me will return for a season 3, it’ll also serve as the show’s final season.

In addition, the series also released a short video announcing the third and final season to come. Check it out below!

Speaking to the show’s upcoming final season, Feldman (who has a multi-year partnership with Netflix) spoke about how satisfying it has been to work on the series for the past few years.

Feldman’s statement also hints at the fact that the series will conclude in a way that she’s always envisioned it would.

“From start to finish, Dead To Me is exactly the show I wanted to make. And it’s been an incredible gift. Telling a story sprung from grief and loss has stretched me as an artist and healed me as a human,” said Feldman via a statement.

“I’ll be forever indebted to my partners in crime, my friends for life, Christina and Linda, and our brilliantly talented writers, cast and crew. I am beyond grateful to Netflix for supporting Dead To Me from day one, and I’m thrilled to continue our collaboration.”

Meanwhile, Jane Wiseman (Vice President, comedy series) also chimed in, stating that while fans will soon have to bid farewell to the hit comedy series, Netflix is looking forward to continuing its partnership with Feldman herself.

“Liz Feldman is a comedic force who brings her fresh and distinct point of view to every element of the creative process from inception through writing and producing,” said Wiseman. “We could not be more excited to expand our relationship with Liz and continue to work with her on Dead to Me and future series to come.”

Currently, there’s no word on when we can expect Dead to Me season 3 to premiere via Netflix.
