David Faustino, primarily known for his role as Bud Bundy on the sitcom Married… with Children, will guest star as Drew, one of Claire’s former classmates in an upcoming episode of Modern Family.
Ed O’Neill, one of the focal actors of Modern Family will be reunited with his former colleague from Married… with Children as David Faustino guest stars as Drew, a former classmate of Claire’s during her high school years.
It has been reported that the pair will not share any scenes together. Fans of both Modern Family and Married will be disappointed by the news that no scenes will be shared, but the welcoming of Faustino will ensure more chaotic comedy for Modern Family fans. Drew, played by Faustino, is said to be a fairly successful individual who reconnects with Claire at her high school reunion. Drew is an unfamiliar character for Faustino, who played Bud Bundy. Bud, who we could argue is a complete opposite to Drew, was known for his get-rich-quick schemes that inevitably ended in failure within the Married television series.
Nowadays, Faustino has rebranded himself as a voice actor, appearing in Robot Chicken, American Dad, What’s New Scooby-Doo? and, his most recent voice acting role, The Legend of Korra, where he is the lead voice actor for the character, Mako.
Are you excited for the arrival of Faustino on Modern Family? Some Married fans will question whether Ed O’Neill’s influence may also bring former Married colleagues, Katey Sagal, Christina Applegate and Amanda Bearse for cameo roles during Modern Family. Or would you prefer a full Married reunion? We’ll have to wait and see.
Modern Family is currently in its midseason break and will not return to our screens until January 9 2013 for episode eleven, “New Year’s Eve,” which looks set to be a cracking episode.
Modern Family airs on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT over on ABC.
