In some pretty awful news for The Walking Dead, star Danai Gurira will reportedly be leaving the series during season 10.
It looks like The Walking Dead is losing its main cast at a very rapid pace. According to a report by THR, Danai Gurira will be leaving The Walking Dead sometime in season 10.
According to the report, Gurira signed a new contract that will have her return for season 10 but only for a few episodes that could be spread out.
This comes after The Walking Dead lost both Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan in season 9. Though it is possible that we could see Gurira returning in movies like her former co-star Lincoln.
Still, this is an undeniable blow to the television series, which has been struggling to keep fans interested the past few seasons.
This leaves just Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride as the remaining fan favorites on the series.
This might not come as a surprise when you consider that Gurira has begun to move her career outside of the television realm, starring in Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War while continuing to expand her career on Broadway as a playwright.
Even though this might be the end of Gurira on The Walking Dead, it surely won’t be the last we see of this talented actress on our screens.
Are you sad to see Danai Gurira leaving ‘The Walking Dead’?
