Harry Potter star Dan Radcliffe was recently asked if he plans to see the new stage play The Cursed Child.
His answer is… interesting, for someone who’s done a ton of theater himself. Speaking to CBS This Morning, Radcliffe said he plans to read The Cursed Child’s script book before seeing it on stage.
“I would [see it] – I’ll probably read it, as a book, since the script’s just come out,” he said to CBS.
Asked why, he added, “I think sitting in that audience might be a slightly intense experience. If it calms down, at any point, I will.”
It’s a little surprising that Harry Potter himself would lean towards reading it before seeing it, because a stage actor of all people should know how much better a play is on stage rather than — you know — in a book.
Maybe Emma Watson or Rupert Grint should text him to let him know he can attend and survive it. Both of his co-stars have attended the show (Separately… sorry shippers) in recent weeks.
Radcliffe also said he didn’t have any connections to get people into the play. “I just said to someone else that I can not hook you up, I do not have any connection. For £15,000, that seems a little steep,” he said, possibly referring to the price of tickets on resell websites.
