Prepare yourselves to get back in the ring with Adonis Creed! There’s a new trailer out for Creed II, and it looks as though the boxer is about to go face-to-face with his toughest opponent yet.
When we first met Adonis (Michael B. Jordan) in 2016’s Creed, it’s clear the young boxer was on a mission to prove he was worthy enough to live up to the family name.
This time around, the stakes are about to get much higher.
A new trailer for the highly anticipated sequel, Creed II officially hit the internet on Wednesday (June 20) morning, and it’s clear from the get-go that Adonis’ next fight could prove to be more dangerous yet.
This time around, Adonis will find himself facing off against Ivan Drago.
That name should sound familiar to fans of the Rocky franchise for Ivan is actually the son of Rocky IV’s very own antagonist.
Adonis may be confident in his skills, but it’s clear that Rocky is definitely worried about his odds.
“You got everything to lose— this guy’s got nothing to lose,” says Rocky during an intense conversation with Adonis. “This guy, he’s dangerous.”

The upcoming sequel will once again star Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, and Tessa Thompson.
One core individual missing from the bunch, however, is none other than Creed writer and director Ryan Coogler.
Though Coogler delivered an explosive first installment of the series, the Black Panther helmer isn’t directly involved this time around. Instead, Stallone himself has taken over the reigns as director. Meanwhile, Steven Caple Jr., has stepped in to pen the script.
Coogler’s lack of involvement in the sequel actually came down to a scheduling conflict. The Fruitvale Station helmer was tied up with Black Panther when negotiations for a Creed sequel were taking place and both Stallone and the studio were worried that if they waited for Coogler to be free, the window of opportunity to revisit Adonis’ story might close up.
Creed II hits theaters later this year on November 21, 2018.
