Following the sudden and tragic passing of Glee’s Cory Monteith and The Sopranos star James Gandolfini, the two actors will be honored at the upcoming Emmy Awards.

The Emmys, which air this Sunday on CBS, will feature its typical In Memoriam segment but will also include speeches from friends who knew Cory Monteith and James Gandolfini well, according to reports.

Glee’s Jane Lynch, who plays coach Sue Sylvester, will speak about Cory Monteith while Edie Falco, a Sopranos co-star, will speak about James Gandolfini. Gary David Goldberg, Jean Stapleton and Jonathan Winters will also be honored during this segment.

“If you think about each of these people, they had a significant impact on television in general and on a particular generation,” executive producer Ken Ehrlich says. “And we’ve asked people whose lives they affected to come and talk about them.”

Cory Monteith passed away on July 13 of this year of an apparent overdose while James Gandolfini, best known for his role on The Sopranos, passed away in June of a heart attack.

Will you be tuning in to the Emmy Awards this Sunday on CBS to see what kind of tribute will be given to these actors? Neil Patrick Harris hosts this year’s event.
