Joel McHale, recent Community grad, has landed a role on Fox’s X-Files miniseries!
The X-Files miniseries is set to reunite original stars David Duchovny (Fox Mulder) and Gillian Anderson (Dana Scully), as the pair reunites to solve a new string of cases.
Variety has learned that the team will cross paths with Joel McHale, who has signed on to guest star on the revival drama.

McHale will play conservative news anchor Tad O’Malley, who becomes “an unlikely ally” for Duchovny’s Mulder.
Aside from Duchovny and Anderson, the six-episode series will also bring back Mitch Pileggi as Walter Skinner, and William B. Davis as The Smoking Man.
Annabeth Gish is also set to return as Monica Reyes, one of the fandom-dividing members of the X-Files team who joined the show in Mulder’s absence.
The X-Files miniseries will premiere in January 2016. It is executively produced by original creator Chris Carter.
Production on what Fox is humbly describing as, “the next mind-bending chapter of The X-Files” will begin this summer.
Joel McHale is fresh off the Community boat: last week’s season 6 finale is thought to be the series’ last, although Yahoo! is reportedly considering a seventh season.
