ABC’s Modern Family has just lined up a pretty big guest for this season!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin will officially be making an appearance on Modern Family season 9.
Martin is set to appear on an episode called “Brushes With Celebrity,” which will air on November 29.
The episode will focus heavily on the Dunphey branch of the Pritchett family, and throughout the night we’ll hear them tell stories of brushing shoulders with the stars.
Martin may not be known for his acting prowess, but it sounds like the showrunners have given the singer a fairly substantial role. Though the frontman will be playing himself, he won’t just be making a quick cameo.
Martin, who has already filmed his part on the upcoming episode will be sharing his scene with with none other than Phil Dunphey (Ty Burrell).
According to THR, Martin will be introduced while Phil has a flashback while recounting an awkward “health issue” he faced while trying to sell Martin a house.
Knowing Phil’s penchant for getting into hilarious situations, we’re sure it’ll make for a pretty funny moment in the episode.
Martin isn’t the only famous face we’ll be seeing when ‘Brushes With Celebrity” airs on November 29.
Though no other special guests have officially been announced for the episode, we expect we’ll be hearing about a few other guest stars in the weeks leading up to the storyline.
We’ll be looking forward to hearing about who else pops up and in what context they end up meeting the other members of the family.
Modern Family airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
