The North Pole is in trouble in the first trailer for ‘The Christmas Chronicles 2’

The first trailer for The Christmas Chronicles 2 is here, and the future of Christmas is once again at stake— check it out below!

Netflix’s annual slate of holiday originals comes well equipped with more than a few original titles, but one that’s bound to be high on everyone’s wish list is the much anticipated sequel to last year’s The Christmas Chronicles.

The Christmas Chronicles 2 picks back up with young Kate Pierce (Darby Camp) two years after the events of the first film take place.

Kate’s now cynical teen who finds herself forced to spend Christmas in Cancun with her mom’s new boyfriend (Tyrese Gibson) and his son Jack (Jahzir Bruno). Feeling ho-hum over the new family arrangement, Kate makes up her mind to run away instead, only to find herself back in the company of Santa Claus himself (Kurt Russell).

As the trailer for The Christmas Chronicles 2 shows, Kate and Santa’s reunion quickly goes from holly jolly to bah humbug when they find themselves once again faced with the task of having to save Christmas. This time around, they’ll have to face off against mysterious magical troublemaker who goes by the name of Belsnickel (Deadpool 2 vet Julian Dennison).

Now, Kate and Jack must team up with Mr. and Mrs. Claus (Goldie Hawn) in an effort to stop Belsnickel before it’s too late.

If the trailer is anything to go by, it seems as though Kate, Jack, Santa and Mrs. Claus won’t have an easy go of it when it comes to trying to stop Belsnickel from succeeding! Overall, the sequel has a much darker feel, but we’ll be excited to check it out when it drops on Netflix later next month!

The Christmas Chronicles 2 premieres via Netflix on November 25.
