Chad Michael Murray is officially returning to The CW!
According to Variety, One Tree Hill alum Chad Michael Murray has officially joined the cast of Riverdale in a pretty pivotal role.
Murray will be playing Edgar Evernever — the enigmatic leader of a cult-like farm and father of Betty’s slightly creepy classmate Evelyn.
Edgar is described as a “charming and handsome guru” who comes to town in an effort to spread his teachings and heal the souls of residents in an effort to restore the wholesome reputation Riverdale was once known for.
We’re sure it’s only a matter of time before everyone starts thirsting over Riverdale‘s latest hot dad, but it sounds as though the characters on the show would do well to proceed with caution when it comes to Mr. Evernever.
Edgar may come off as charming, but as with many things in Riverdale, they aren’t always what they seem on the surface. There may be a much more sinister agenda hiding behind his careful facade.
Murray took to Twitter to share the good news of his recurring role with fans far and wide.
“#Evernever Hang on tight coz it’s gonna be a wild ride,” teased Murray.

In a lot of ways, Murray seems like the perfect guy for the job — especially since he’s no stranger to playing intriguing and likable characters. We can’t wait to see him in action as Edgar Evernever later this season!
The Tom Holland-led Spider-Man series will continue on, but not with Disney or Marvel’s Kevin Feige.
