Anthony Daniels, who you might know better as his Star Wars character C-3PO, announced on Twitter that he had finished shooting Episode IX.
Slowly but surely, it seems things are beginning to draw to a close on the set of Star Wars: Episode IX. Anthony Daniels, the actor who plays protocol droid C-3PO, announced on his Twitter that he had officially completed shooting Episode IX.
Daniels has been a part of the Star Wars universe since Episode IV, so it is a big deal for the actor to wrap the final installment in the Skywalker Saga. Daniels took to Twitter to reflect on this huge moment.
Today was 3PO's last on Episode IX. He's sad – so am I. But we're so proud to have worked with such a lovely, talented cast & crew lead by J.J. & Kathy. I'll miss everyone but I'm glad to know that we've been making something exceptional together, to share with the waiting world.

With Threepio finishing his journey in the Skywalker Saga, we are one step closer to getting some solid information on what to expect from Episode IX. Cast and crew alike have not only been incredibly tight-lipped regarding what we can expect to see in the film, but the title of the movie is still shrouded in mystery. In fact, we likely won’t get any updates from the movie until the Star Wars Celebration, happening this April in Chicago.
We do know that Episode IX will feature the return of Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian as well as some final footage of Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa. Additionally, Mark Hamill has been teasing fans on social media regarding plot details and the movie’s title. We are so ready for Star Wars Celebration to get here so we can get some concrete news on the film.
Until then, we’ll take a moment to honor our favorite, always-apprehensive protocol droid. We can’t wait to see how this chapter ends for C-3PO.
