Buffy the Vampire Slayer is about to be reborn for a whole new generation!
According to Entertainment Weekly, Little, Brown Books for Young Readers has officially inked a deal with cartoonist Carolyn Nowak to bring a new Buffy the Vampire Slayer book series to life.
The upcoming series is set to be geared toward middle-grade readers and will be released in September of 2018.
The new series is set to tell the story of Buffy through comics, journal entries, class notes, doodles, text messages, and more.
Fans of the original WB series will also be happy to know that Nowak’s book series will be keeping some of the show’s most important themes, including those of empowerment and independence.
It definitely sounds as though the new Buffy the Vampire Slayer middle-grade book series will contain a little something for old and new fans alike.
More importantly, we’re happy to know that Buffy’s legacy continues to live on, and that she’s about to be introduced to a whole new generation who may not have known about her otherwise.
In addition to announcing the forthcoming book series, EW also exclusively revealed the official cover for the new series.
