BTS song, album list: A complete guide to every single tune

BTS Soundcloud releases:

Since before BTS even debuted they were regularly writing songs or doing covers and releasing them. The majority of them ended up going up on their Soundcloud and blog for fans to enjoy for free and the group has kept up the practice since then!

Note: There are a number of songs that were released but are not currently on their Soundcloud which will not be included in this list.

RM – ‘Rap Monster’

Released: December 22, 2012

“Rap Monster” is the song that inspired RM’s original stage name, although he eventually changed it after outgrowing the name. RM also revealed that he originally wrote the song in April 2011 but wasn’t released until 2012. The original track is “Look At Me Now” by Chris Brown.

Suga – ‘All I Do Is Win’

Released: December 22, 2012

Suga also revealed that he recorded “All I Do Is Win” in April 2011 when RM recorded “Rap Monster.” The original track is of the same name by DJ Khaled.

BTS – ‘흔한 연습생의 크리스마스 (A Typical Trainee’s Christmas)

Released: December 23, 2012

The lyrics of “A Typical Trainee’s Christmas” cover the harsh realities of life for trainees, especially during the holiday season when they’re working hard instead of with their families. The original tracks are “Christmas in Harlem” by Kanye West and “Last Christmas” by Wham.

RM – ‘Where U At’

Released: January 3, 2013

According to RM’s blog about the song, “Where U At” was written in 2010 and not released until 2013. The lyrics revolve around the anxieties of school and an uncertain future, topics that BTS often approached in their early years.

RM – ‘Favorite Girl’

Released: January 28, 2013

Written in 2012, RM said that “Favorite Girl” was about someone he used to really like.

RM & Jungkook – ‘Like A Star’

Released: February 2, 2013

Recorded in 2012, RM and Jungkook released “Like A Star” in 2013 from the original track “Like A Star” by J. Cole.

RM, Suga, Jin – ‘어른아이 (Adult Child)’

Released: March 13, 2013

“Adult Child” was written by Suga and RM, with vocals by Jin. The song addresses the stress of being in your 20s and still feeling young but having the responsibilities of an adult.

Including living on your own, college, and the looming military services of young men in South Korea. The original track is from “Celebrate” by Common.

Suga – ‘Dream Money’

Released: April 7, 2013

Suga released “Dream Money” along with the comment, “When a lot of rappers are busy showing off swag I’m going to work on dreamlists one by one.” The original track is from “Trap Back Jumpin” by T.I.

BTS – ‘Born Singer’

Released: July 10, 2013

The BTS rap line (RM, Suga, J-Hope) worked together to write “Born Singer” which focused on the group’s difficult journey from trainees to debuting idols. The original track is from “Born Sinner” by J. Cole.

RM – ‘Something’

Released: September 21, 2013

RM released “Something,” which he recorded during Chuseok as a gift for ARMYs. The original track is from the song of the same name by Drake.

J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook – ‘Beautiful’

Released: October 01, 2013

J-Hope joined the maknae line (Jimin, V, and Jungkook) on this recording of “Beautiful.” The lyrics were also written by J-Hope along with RM and Supreme Boi. The original track is from “Beautiful” by Mariah Carey.

Suga – ‘싸이하누월 (It Doesn’t Matter)’

Released: October 27, 2013

Suga wrote the lyrics, produced, and played the keyboard as well as synthesizer for “It Doesn’t Matter”. The song also samples “Ssaihanuwar” by South Korean singer Ahn Sook Sun.

Suga – ‘싸이하누월 (It Doesn’t Matter Instrumental)’

Released: October 27, 2013

Along with the original version, Suga also released an instrumental version of “It Doesn’t Matter.”

RM – ‘Too Much’

Released: November 21, 2013

In “Too Much,” RM focused on the backlash that he faced as a rapper that went on to debut as an idol, a topic that he and the other rap line members of BTS have openly discussed. The original track is from Drake of the same title.

SUGA, J-hope, Jimin, V, Jin – ‘흔한 아이돌의 크리스마스 (A Typical Idol’s Christmas)’

Released: December 19, 2013

After releasing “A Typical Trainee’s Christmas” the year prior, BTS released “A Typical Idol’s Christmas” in 2013. This time the lyrics were more thankful since Bangtan had debuted. The original track is “Only Thing I Ever Get For Christmas” by Justin Bieber.

RM – ‘Monterlude’

Released: January 17, 2014

“Monterlude” was a song RM released with full English lyrics from the original track “Interlude” from BTS’ album 2 Cool 4 Skool.

Jimin & V – ’95 Graduation’

Released: February 25, 2014

Since Jimin and V went to the same high school in Seoul they released “95 Graduation” to celebrate the end of their school days. The original track was “Old School Love” by Lupe Fiasco.

RM – ‘Cypher Ruff’

Released: February 25, 2014

The BTS rap line has regularly used their Cypher series to address haters, and RM released the rough version of one of his recordings titling it “Cypher Ruff” which was from the BTS track “Cypher PT. 2: Triptych.”

RM & Soulscape – ‘Unpack Your Bags’

Released: May 20, 2014

RM and Soulscape released the song “Unpack Your Bags” as part of the 4 Things Show on Mnet that focused on going behind idols public personas. RM’s episode focused on the difficulties and prejudices that he faced going from an underground rapper to an idol.

BTS – ‘So 4 More’

Released: June 13, 2014

BTS released “So 4 More” to celebrate their debut anniversary and the title is a play on the word sophomore. The original track is “Like Water” by Pro Era.

Jungkook – ‘일하는 중 (Working)’

Released: September 25, 2014

Jungkook released a cover of “양화대교” by Zion.T with some changes to the lyrics.

Jungkook – ‘SOFA’

Released: December 16, 2014

“SOFA” is another cover by Jungkook of the original song “SOFA” by 크러쉬(CRUSH).

Jimin & Jungkook – ‘Christmas Day’

Released: December 24, 2014

For Christmas in 2014, Jimin and Jungkook released “Chistmas Day”. Jimin wrote the lyrics with the original track for “Mistletoe” by Justin Bieber.

V – ‘Someone Like You’

Released: December 29, 2014

As a present for ARMYs, V released a cover of “Someone Like You” by Adele.

Jin – ‘엄마 (Mom)’

Released: May 07, 2015

Jin released a cover of “Mom” by Ra.D and dedicated it to his parents for supporting his dreams in joining BTS.

J-Hope & V – ‘안아줘(Hug me)’

Released: May 31, 2015

Together J-Hope and V released a cover of “안아줘 (Hug Me)” by 정준일 Jeong Joon-Il.

BTS – ‘We Are Bulletproof PT1’

Released: June 9, 2015

BTS released “We Are Bulletproof Pt. 1” in 2015 before BTS’ second anniversary, which is a reworked version of “We are B.P.B” that RM originally recorded Iron and Supreme Boi who did not debut with the group.

Jungkook – ‘Lost Stars’

Released: October 3, 2015

Jungkook released a cover of “Lost Stars” by Adam Levine from the Begin Again OST.

Jin – ‘난 너를 사랑해 (I Love You)’

Released: December 3, 2015

To celebrate his birthday in 2015, Jin released a cover of “난 너를 사랑해 (I Love You)” by 메이트 (Mate).

J-Hope – ‘1 Verse’

Released: December 21, 2015

J-Hope released his first solo song on Soundcloud with “1 Verse,” which he wrote himself with the original track from “El Chapo” by The Game & Skrillex. He also revealed that he had a lot of worries about releasing the song.

Jungkook – ‘Paper Hearts’

Released: December 24, 2015

Before Christmas in 2015, Jungkook released a cover of “Paper Hearts” by Tori Kelly.

RM & Jungkook – ‘Fools’

Released: December 29, 2015

After recommending the song earlier that year, RM and Jungkook released a cover of “Fools” by Troye Sivan in December 2015.

Jungkook – ‘Nothing Like Us’

Released: February 15, 2016

Jungkook released a cover of Justin Bieber’s “Nothing Like Us” to kick off 2016.

RM & Jungkook – ‘알아요 (I Know)’

Released: May 31, 2016

As part of the 2016 BTS Festa, RM and Jungkook released “I know,” an original song to celebrate their third anniversary.

BTS – ‘Young Forever’ (Unplugged Ver.)

BTS released an unplugged version of “Young Forever” as part of their 2016 BTS Festa!

Jungkook – ‘Purpose’

Released: August 31, 2016

Following his cover of “Nothing Like Us”, Jungkook released a cover of another Justin Bieber song in 2016 with “Purpose.”

Jin – ‘Awake’ (Christmas Ver.)

Released: December 03, 2016

To celebrate his birthday in 2016, Jin released a Christmas version of his solo song from the Wings album “Awake.”

RM – ‘Always’

Released: January 01, 2017

To bring in the new year, RM released “Always” which focuses on his struggles after he faced a lot of criticism.

He went into more detail about the song in a V Live, “After a series of the incidents that were not beautiful, I had a lot of thoughts.”

Suga, Jin, & Jungkook – ‘So Far Away’

Released: June 02, 2017

As part of the 2017 BTS Festa, the group released a version of “So Far Away” with Suga, Jin, & Jungkook. The song originally appears on Suga’s mixtape Agust D with Suran.

Suga also revealed that there were some things he was able to fix with this version that he couldn’t on the one from his mixtape!

RM & V – ‘네시 (4 O’CLOCK)’

Released: June 08, 2017

Also part of the 2017 BTS Festa, RM and V released an original song they wrote together “4 O’CLOCK.”

Jungkook – ‘2 U’

Released: August 31, 2017

For his first cover in 2017, Jungkook released “2 U” by David Guetta ft.Justin Bieber.

Jungkook – ‘Oh Holy Night’

Released: December 23, 2017

For Christmas in 2017, Jungkook released his version of “Oh Holy Night.”

Jungkook – ‘그때 헤어지면 돼 (Only Then)’

Released: March 13, 2018

Jungkook released this cover of “Only Then” by Roy Kim.

RM then revealed that he’d been the one to ask Jungkook to cover the song!

BTS – ‘ 그봄날 (Spring Day) Brit Rock Remix’

Released: June 03, 2018

As part of the 2018 BTS Festa the group released a Brit Rock Remix of their popular track “Spring Day.”

 

Jin – ‘ 가을 우체국 앞에서 (Autumn Outside the Post Office)’

Released: June 07, 2018

Also part of the 2018 BTS Festa, Jin released a cover of “Autumn Outside the Post Office” by Yoon Do-hyun.

RM, Suga, J-Hope – ‘땡 (DDaeng)’

Released: June 10, 2018

“DDaeng” is an original song by the BTS rap line for 2018 BTS Festa, and has gone on to be infamous by fans for its lyrical genius and sound.

‘Seesaw X I NEED U REMIX’ by Suga

Released: September 21, 2018

Suga released a remixed version of the songs “Seesaw” and “I NEED U” for fans, and Jungkook sketched a special cover sketch for the song!

Jimin – ‘약속 (Promise)’

Released: December 30, 2018

Jimin released his first original song “Promise” on Soundcloud at the very end of 2018. V also took the picture that became the cover art.

And the song ended up breaking the record for most streams in 24 hours on Soundcloud!

Jungkook – ‘ 이런 엔딩 (Ending Scene)’

Released: January 23, 2019

Jungkook released two versions of “Ending Scene” by IU.

V – ‘풍경 (Scenery)’

Released: January 30, 2019

V released his first solo original song “Scenery” shortly after teasing the song on twitter.

Of course Jimin may have accidentally revealed the news a few days prior during a V live video as well.

Jin – ‘이 밤 (Tonight)’

Released: June 04, 2019

For the 2019 BTS Festa, Jin released his first original song “(Tonight),” an emotional track about his beloved pets that he’d had to say goodbye to.

Jungkook – ‘Euphoria’ (DJ Swivel Forever Mix)

Released: June 10, 2019

Also for the 2019 BTS Festa, they released the DJ Swivel Forever Mix of “Euphoria” and made all ARMYs emotional with the video that went along with it.

V – ‘Winter Bear’

Released: August 9, 2019

V dropped an all English original song “Winter Bear” without warning! The title comes from the nickname “Baby Bear” that V’s parents called him as a child.

Jungkook – ‘Still With You’

Released: As part of 2020 BTS Festa, Jungkook released a new song on Soundcloud titled “Still With You.” On a Vlive Jungkook explained, “I was thinking to make a song that shows my feelings to ARMYs sincerely. One day I was alone in my dark room and I came up with it.”
