Original Story (Friday, August 24): “Idol”, which comes off of the BTS’ new album, Love Yourself: Answer, is undeniably upbeat and catchy. It’s easy to watch the video over and over again, as with so many different scenes to watch, something new catches your eye each time. The video also showcases their talented dancers and unforgettable raps.
The video is quickly breaking records and has become the most-viewed Korean music video within 24 hours on YouTube. The record was previously held by BLACKPINK — their song “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” had the biggest 24-hour debut with 36.2 million views on June 15.
But BTS has smashed that out of the park with over 38 million views for “Idol” and several hours left to go before the day is done. Fans are hoping to catapult the video to 50 million by the end of the 24-hour mark.
According to Nicki Minaj, a second video will be released in a couple of days with the version of “Idol” that features her verses.
BTS is also about to kick off a world tour that will take them all over the globe, including their homeland of South Korea, and all the way to the USA, Canada, the U.K., Netherlands, Germany, France, and, finally, Japan!
It surely won’t shock anyone if Love Yourself: Answer is sent to the top of the charts thanks to their ARMY.
