Bryan Singer has led the X-Men franchise through many iterations over the years, and now he’s bringing them to the small screen with an exciting new project.
We learned about this mysterious show back in July. Just like with Legion, Marvel will also have a hand in this series, which will premiere on Fox.
The new X-Men TV show will “focus on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.”
According to EW, Blair Redford (Switched at Birth, Satisfaction) will play Sam, “the strong-headed Native American leader of the underground network.”
The series is definitely part of the X-Men universe that Singer is currently in charge of, which just saw its latest filmic iteration in X-Men: Apocalypse. There will be plenty more movies to come, including the Logan, New Mutants, and several others, and though this television series does take place in the same universe, it won’t have a direct connection to the franchise, much like how Legion will feel a bit separate as well.
