One of the biggest and bestest movies of 2018, Black Panther, is about to hit Netflix for your binging pleasure.
Marvel’s first film with a Black lead and a primarily Black cast is hitting Netflix on September 4! It’s big news, because not only does the movie serve up many firsts, but Black Panther blew away box office expectations and was a critical success.

Netflix’s deal with Disney has been a fantastic way for subscribers to enjoy some of their favorite Mouse House movies again and again, but the agreement is ending soon, because next year Disney will launch a Netflix of their own. It’s expected to have a price tag that’s lower than Netflix’s and will include nearly all of Disney’s library (Walt Disney Studios, Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar, Disney Channel, etc.).
In addition, it’s set to have several original series. So far we know there’ll be shows based in the worlds of Star Wars, Monsters, Inc., High School Musical, and Marvel.
For now, Disney movies including Moana, Coco, Bolt, Cars 3, The Last Jedi, Beauty and the Beast (live-action), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, The Princess Diaries, High School Musical 3, Pete’s Dragon, Tarzan, Mulan, Hercules, Pocahontas, Rogue One, The BFG, Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarok, and Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 are all on Netflix. Sadly, they will all disappear within the next year once the Disney / Netflix deal expires.
Black Panther “follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.”
The movie stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.
