Warner Bros., and DC Films’ big screen adaptation of Black Adam has been in the works for quite some time and now, fans of the anti-hero have finally been clued in with regards to when we can expect to see the movie premiere in theaters.
On Sunday (March 28), Warner Bros., revealed that the movie would officially be hitting theaters next year on July 29, 2022.
The film’s new release date puts it in theaters just a few months after Shazam: Fury of the Gods. The highly anticipated Shazam sequel is due to hit the big screen in April 2022.
Dwayne Johnson, who plays the titular superhero, took to Instagram to spread the exciting news with fans far and wide shortly after the official release date was announced.
“A disruptive and unstoppable force of a message from the man in black himself,” wrote Johnson in the caption of his post. “Black Adam is coming July 29, 2022. The hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change.”
The Rock paired his caption with video footage of Black Adam taking over the billboards in Times Square in New York City to announce the release date.
