Meet the man behind one of the most publicized political debates of our generation in HBO’s Brexit, starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
“There’s a new politics in town,” folks, and HBO and BBC’s new film about 2016’s Brexit vote wants to show you all about it. In the film, Benedict Cumberbatch stars as Dominic Cummings, the head of Britain’s “Leave” campaign, which resulted in the UK voting to leave the European Union.
“Everyone knows who won, but not everyone knows how,” Cumberbatch, as Cummings, opens the trailer by saying. Brexit’s goal is to tell the story of how the “Leave” party gained its footing in the UK and the tools and tactics they employed to “change the course of history,” and eventually win the vote.
Benedict Cumberbatch seems to have transformed himself yet again into his new role, and we’re not just talking about his hair line! We can’t wait to see him take on the role of Dominic Cummings in the entire movie.
Brexit also stars Rory Kinnear as Craig Oliver, the head of the “Remain” campaign. The film was written by James Graham and directed by Toby Haynes, who’s previously worked with Cumberbatch on Sherlock.
Brexit premieres on HBO on January 19. Check out the fascinating trailer here!
