The Hollywood Bowl invites you to be their guest with a new, star-studded, live performance of Beauty and the Beast.
Beauty and the Beast is a well-loved Disney classic, and while many of us grew up watching and loving the 1991 cartoon, the 2017 live-action film renewed our love of Belle’s story. To celebrate our Disney love, the Hollywood Bowl will be putting on a live performance of the iconic film, and the cast is absolutely packed with talent.
As The Hollywood Reporter explains, Belle will be played by Zooey Deschanel, Gaston will be played by Taye Diggs, and Rebel Wilson will be playing LeFou. Kelsey Grammer will also be a part of the fun as Lumiere, and Jane Krakowski will be Mrs. Potts.
Of course, this won’t just be a straight-up live performance of Beauty and the Beast. The live cast will be performing the songs live onstage with a live orchestra backing them up while the animated film plays in the background behind them. And of course, there will be a costume contest involved in the festivities as well as some fun photo ops for the attendees.
The performance is meant to be a truly unique way to interact with the Beauty and the Beast story, mixing the film, live performances, singers, dancers, and breathtaking live performances. It’s going to be a totally unique way to experience the film, and will definitely be a performance you don’t want to miss. As concert director Richard Craft says, “we are mixing film, live music, singers, dancers, digital projections, effects and special guest artists to create an event that pays homage to the original movie but also delivers something that can only be experienced live.”
Count us in! If you want to try to see the show live, tickets will go on sale for the Beauty and the Beast concert at the Hollywood Bowl on March 16 at 10 a.m. PST. So be sure you don’t miss out!
