Marvel has released the first official look at The Avengers: Age of Ultron, with Ultron’s first appearance along with Iron Man and Captain America’s new suits.
On the latest cover of EW, Marvel has revealed our first look ever at Ultron in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. We’ve see some shots of the character on set, but this is our first time seeing the villain’s final design. Check out Ultron, Iron Man and Captain America below:
Ultron actually looks quite a lot like the first mini-trailer we saw during Comic-Con last year, with the red eyes and the helmet which resembled Iron Man’s. He’s clearly evolved a bit and his armor looks even more interesting as we look down below and see hints of his legs behind Iron Man and Cap.
Looking behind Ultron we can see dozens of other Ultron-like minions, which we’ve heard is Ultron’s army of mini-drones. They follow him around and come to him when he requests. They look similar to Ultron in design, except they emit a blue light whereas Ultron emits a red hue from his eyes.
This is most likely to prevent us from mixing them up as the same character, as the mini-drones do look quite similar to Ultron in design.
This is where we also get our first look at Iron Man and Captain America’s new suits. While we’ve seen Cap’s new suit in some set photos, this is certainly the first official shot of the character from The Avenger’s sequel.
He definitely looks like he’s had a few upgrades since Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but he still has that iconic look that fans have come to expect.
Iron Man is also looking fairly similar to what we saw in Iron Man 3, but he appears to have more red on the front of his armor instead of all the gold we saw in the character’s previous film. We’re liking the new look, as the gold didn’t seem to pop as much in the last film.
This goes in line with a report we released recently which stated that Iron Man’s armor was in fact altered, but had simply gained some red over gold. It also confirms that Tony Stark will build a new suit or has built a new suit by the time Age of Ultron takes place.
