Alicia Keys, Katy Perry, fun., and Usher are only a handful of artists that are slated to perform at this month’s inaugural balls for President Obama.
“We are honored and excited to have such a diverse, talented group of musical guests joining Americans from across the country to celebrate the 57th Inauguration,” Presidential Inaugural Committee President and CEO Steve Kerrigan said in a press statement.
The Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC) announced today that there will be two balls held for the president on January 21 – which is the smallest inauguration for any U.S. president since Dwight Eisenhower was sworn in in 1953.
Other artists that are set to perform at the balls include Brad Paisley, Far East Movement, John Legend, Marc Anthony, Mindless Behavior, Nick Cannon, Smokey Robinson, Soul Children of Chicago, Stevie Wonder and members of the cast of Glee.
Although the PIC has yet to confirm which artists will be performing at each of the inaugural balls, they will be making their announcements in the coming days.
The two inaugural balls will take place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C.
In 2009, Aretha Franklin and Beyonce Knowles were among the list of performers as President Barack Obama made U.S. history as the first African-American president to be sworn in.
And in case you missed it, we announced earlier this week that Beyonce will be making her second appearance at the President’s inaugural ball alongside Kelly Clarkson.
