Two familiar fandom faces will be joining the upcoming Dwayne Johnson-starring San Andreas.
Alexandra Daddario and Colton Haynes will star opposite Johnson in the upcoming earthquake film, reports Deadline. Brad Peyton is set to direct the disaster film.
Daddario, known for her roles in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters and, more recently, HBO’s True Detective, landed the female lead opposite Johnson, who plays an ex-Special Ops firefighter pilot who sets out to rescue his estranged daughter after a massive earthquake hits California.
This announcement of Daddario starring in San Andreas comes on the heels of the possible cancellation of the Percy Jackson franchise. Although nothing has been confirmed by the studio yet, lead actor Logan Lerman has stated that he doesn’t think a third movie will happen.
Haynes, who is best known for his roles as Jackson Whittemore on MTV’s Teen Wolf and, currently, Roy Harper on The CW’s Arrow, will play a yet unannounced role. Haynes has been gaining popularity recently for his work on Arrow, though fans of Teen Wolf are still clamoring for him to return for at least a single episode. Although it seems unlikely at the moment, creator Jeff Davis has left the option on the table by not killing off Haynes’ character on the show.
Political Animals alum Carla Gugino has also signed on to play Johnson’s character’s ex-wife. Gugino’s other credits include New Girl, Californication and Entourage.
San Andreas is expected to hit theaters on June 5, 2015. It will play in both 2D and 3D.
