The Adventures of Supergirl digital comic will tell additional stories about the Girl of Steel.
Adventures of Supergirl, while it won’t tie directly into the CBS series, will tell stories set in the same universe, featuring Kara teaming up with the DEO to stop alien threats as well as working her job as Cat Grant’s assistant. Per IGN, Supergirl will also face off against classic villains like Rampage, Vril Dox and Psi.
This is much like the Arrow and Flash digital comics have filled in the gaps between seasons of the series.
The digital first comic will be penned by veteran Supergirl writer Sterling Gates. The art will be done by a rotating cast of artists, including Bengal (who will pencil, ink and color the first three chapters), Jonboy Meyers, Emanuela Lupacchino and Emma Vieceli.
The series will be 13 chapters long, and it will be released bi-weekly beginning Monday, January 25. The chapters will then be collected and printed as a graphic novel later this year.

“I am beyond thrilled to be writing Supergirl again,” Gates tells THR. “Supergirl is one of my all-time favorite characters — I think she’s one of DC’s best characters, period — and I was extremely honored when DC Comics and the producers of CBS’ hit television show asked me to write Adventures of Supergirl.”
He added, “Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler, and Andrew Kreisberg have created a unique and frankly brilliant take on Kara ‘Supergirl’ Danvers, and our comic will be an extension of their fantastic world. Fans of the show can expect to see all their favorite Supergirl characters play a role in our massively action-packed thirteen-part story exploring the various facets of Supergirl’s life!”
Adventures of Supergirl debuts on Monday, January 25.
