Today Ryan Murphy announced none other than American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert will join Glee this fall.
Ryan Murphy announced Adam Lambert’s addition to the Fox musical comedy via his Twitter account:
I am thrilled to announce that the super talented Adam Lambert is joining the cast of Glee this fall.

Adam Lambert is best known for his incredible vocal styling that got him all the way to the finale of season 8 of American Idol. He was runner-up to Kris Allen. Lambert, who has had notable success with his solo career since leaving Idol was definitely the fan favorite and expected winner of his season of American Idol. Lambert will mark the second American Idol alum to join Glee as season 10 runner-up Jessica Sanchez was featured on episodes of Glee season 4 this past year.
There’s no word on what role Adam Lambert will be filling though we assume it will definitely not be a student at McKinley High. Could he be a teacher (or student teacher) at McKinley? Maybe a college classmate of Rachel and Kurt’s? We could also see him being a bar performer in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
Either way Lambert will surely add a flair to the already flamboyant show when it returns to Fox Thursdays at 9/8c starting September 19.
What role would you like to see Adam Lambert play on Glee season 5 this fall?
