It looks like ABC’s Roseanne revival isn’t going anywhere– in fact, it’ll be sticking around a bit longer than we expected.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve undoubtedly heard that the premiere episode of the recent Roseanne revival garnered in some huge ratings for its home network, ABC.
In fact, Tuesday’s premiere of the episode raked in a whopping 18.4 million viewers according to Nielsen’s live-plus-same-day ratings.
With such impressive figures, it’s no wonder that ABC executives were quick to secure the future of the revival.
And on Friday (March 30), the series took to its official Twitter account to let fans in on the good news that ABC had officially renewed the Roseanne reveal for a second season.
“You asked for it! #Roseanne is getting another season!” tweeted the series’ official account.

Shortly after, series star and creator Roseanne Barr took to her own Twitter account to express her joy over the good news, and to point out that a second season means the show will be able to take on Halloween.
“I just got the call— thank u ABC! Thank you, Roseanne Show family (including fans),” tweeted the comedian. “HEY! THIS MEANS WE GET TO DO A HALLOWEEN SHOW!!! YAY!!!”

Barr followed up her initial tweet with another, in which she asked fans to weigh in on what they might like to see now that the series will span longer than the revival’s ordered nine episode first season.
“What kind of subjects would you like to see in season 11? #Roseanne,” wrote Barr.
