The Avengers: Age of Ultron’s third trailer has been released with exciting new footage of the Avengers, Ultron rebuilding himself, and the first look at the Vision.
In Age of Ultron’s third trailer, we see the Avengers continuing their battle with Ultron and each other after Ultron reveals that he was built to create peace. We finally hear more about how Ultron is created, and how Black Widow thinks that Tony “totally failed.” Watch the new trailer below:
The trailer was unlocked after the film’s official Twitter account launched a tweet-to-unlock campaign.
Remember: Robert Downey Jr. announced last week that we’d be getting a big announcement March 5, after seeing new character posters drop each day over the last week. At this time it’s not clear if the trailer is Downey Jr.’s big announcement, or if it’s something else entirely.
The new Age of Ultron trailer shows us our first look at The Vision, played by Paul Bettany, which we’ve taken a screenshot of and included below. In comic canon he’s created by Ultron, but realizes that his creator doesn’t have his best interests at heart, and turns to help the Avengers.
With all the talk about the recasting of Spider-Man, and the fact that he’ll most likely be appearing in Civil War, we’re wondering if the announcement could be a confirmation that the web-slinger will be joining Cap and Iron Man in Captain America 3. Earlier this week we learned that the new Spider-Man movie will be directed by Drew Goddard.
The Avengers: Age of Ultron’s first trailer was incredibly well received, with a much darker tone than expected, and the second trailer followed a similar path. The third, and possibly final, trailer continues the dark tone, but certainly ramps up the excitement.
Expect an enormous amount of promotion for Avengers: Age of Ultron during the next two months, as we approach the film’s worldwide release on May 1. The Avengers’ sequel may very well be the most anticipated sequel of all time, especially for Marvel fans, and the studio will be going all out with Age of Ultron promotion over the next few weeks.
The Avengers: Age of Ultron will be released in theaters on May 1, 2015, with its follow-up being Avengers: Infinity War, which has been split into two parts and will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.
