2020 Emmy Awards: ‘Schitt’s Creek,’ ‘Succession’ win top prizes

Pandemic be damned, the 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards were held virtually on Sunday night, led by late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.

Given the challenges the Emmys had to deal with, the event went remarkably smooth. All nominees were safely in their homes (with some casts gathered together at their own parties), and save for some choppy video connections here and there, most nominees didn’t have any tech issues.

While most celebrities were safely at home, Kimmel was joined by a few celebrities at Staples Center for award introductions and sketches, including Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, and Zendaya.

Schitt’s Creek cleaned up the Comedy categories including Best Comedy Series, while Succession took Best Drama Series.
