Classic Alice web series creator Kate Hackett and her co-star Tony Noto chat with Hypable about their fans, their love story, and the subject of the upcoming “Book 5.”
Classic Alice is a web series created by Kate Hackett, which follows college student Alice Rackham (played by Hackett herself) as she sets out to live life one classic novel at a time.
With Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment as her first source of inspiration, Alice documents her experiences with the help of film student Andrew Prichard (Tony Noto).
After a successful first season (or “Book,” as we’re calling them), Classic Alice has moved on to cover George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion and H. C. Andersen’s The Butterfly. It is currently wrapping up Shakespeare’s Macbeth; the final episode will air Tuesday, October 28.
As Alice finds herself learning more about life, the characters around her also begin to find their places in her world. Through vlogs and confessionals, the audience gets to know the very relatable and sympathetic characters, and witness as their friendships and relationships develop.
In this video interview, Kate Hackett and Tony Noto reveal the book the show will tackle in “Book 5,” talk about what it’s like to work on the show and interact with their fans, and what’s coming up for their characters:
