It’s not the Frozen sequel that some fans are clamoring for, but it’s close: Random House will begin publishing a Frozen book series this January.
Random House announced on Friday that they will publish three to four Frozen chapter books a year beginning in 2015.
The books, as you would expect, are intended for six to nine year olds, but they are set after the events that take place in the film. In other words, they may still interest older readers if you care about Anna and Elsa’s story beyond the Frozen ending.
The first two installments of the Anna & Elsa series will be published on January 6.
Book one is titled “All Hail the Queen” (cover pictured above) while the sequel is titled “Anna’s Missing Memories.”
You can read an excerpt of book one over on USA Today.
After making over $1 billion at the worldwide box office, Disney is looking to turn Frozen into a franchise. They have a Broadway musical and an ice skating show in the works. However, they aren’t rushing into making a movie sequel until they come up with a story that can live up to the original.
