Two new production stills released from The Legend of Korra season 3 show Mako and Bolin in their unmentionables.
As has become tradition, show co-creator Bryan Konietzko has recently posted two new production images from The Legend of Korra season 3 to his Tumblr blog. Though the images were posted a few days apart, they do appear to be connected, in theme if not precisely in scene.
The first image posted by Konietzko shows the bending brothers Mako and Bolin outside in their pajamas.
Unless Bolin is planning to take flight right about now, we have to assume that he is preparing to earthbend. But what threat could be approaching Republic City in the middle of the night?
Image number two appeared on Konietzko’s Tumblr last night, and appears to be connected to the image above – most likely preceding it.
Though we have no idea why Bolin is so perturbed, we have a solid hunch why Mako is about to be totally annoyed. (It has something to do with his brother waking him up screaming.) Konietzko is sly on the details of the scene, only adding the brief caption, “Further Book 3 adventures in underwear.”
These new images are the third and fourth stills which Bryan Konietzko has shared from production on The Legend of Korra season 3. The first image showed Toph’s daughter Lin Beifong engaged in some kind of sweat-inducing activity; the still was especially exciting as Konietzko and fellow co-creator Mike DiMartino have said that Lin will play a significant role in The Legend of Korra season 3. The second image kicks off the Bolin-centric pattern of the shots, as the lovably befuddling earthbender is surrounded by several animal friends.
DiMartino and Konietzko announced last year that The Legend of Korra season 3 will be titled “Book 3: Change.” The story will focus on the changes in Korra’s world following the opening of the Spirit portals, allowing otherworldly beings to mingle in the rapidly-modernizing Avatar universe. No release date has been announced for the third season, but fans are hopeful that the wait will not be as long as the year-and-a-half gap between seasons one and two of The Legend of Korra.
