Learn how being in Neverland will affect the main characters in Once Upon a Time season 3 as the showrunners tease the new location.
In the upcoming season of Once Upon a Time, we’ll see Emma (Jennifer Morrison), Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin), Charming (Josh Dallas), Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle), and Regina (Lana Parrilla) journey to Neverland on Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue)’s Jolly Roger.
They’re going to attempt to rescue Henry (Jared Gilmore), who has been captured by Peter Pan (Robbie Kay)’s Lost Boys.
But will they succeed? Once Upon a Time showrunner Ed Kitsis teases to EW that the Storybrooke residents are in for some big changes and challenges in the new magical land.
Because of the fact that Neverland is where imagination and belief thrives, we’ll soon see that, “All our main characters are being stripped down to their core,” Kitsis says.
“Being in Neverland is going to have a profound effect on each of the characters,” which allows the writers to explore the characters further and push them forward in their development.
This new setting will also be a way to explore Emma’s relationship with her parents, Kitsis adds. “Neverland is really a place where we can sit down and think about that.”

There’s a bit of season 3, episode 2 “Lost Girl” scoop in there, too. This episode will see “a good old-fashioned” showdown between Regina and the Charmings, that even has some cool new costumes that have Kitsis very enthused.
Speaking to TV Line, co-creator Adam Horowitz offers some additional Peter Pan scoop.
The boy (who we recently learned will be played by Robbie Kay) has a history with Rumpelstiltskin, and “There is a big reason why [Rumpel] said if you’re going to be scared of someone, this is the guy to be scared of.”

Kitsis adds, “When you meet Pan, you’re going to see a very, very, very clever person. And if there’s one thing Rumple admires, it’s somebody who has game.”
It looks like we’re in for an interesting new rivalry!
