The illustrator behind the new Harry Potter covers will appear at Los Angeles’ flagship Barnes & Noble at the end of August.
Barnes & Noble’s website lists the meet and greet with Kazu Kibuishi scheduled for Wednesday, August 28 at 7 p.m. local time. That’s one day after Scholastic publishes the seven Harry Potter books with the new covers.
“Calling all Harry Potter fans! We are thrilled to present award-winning illustrator, Kazu Kibuishi, when he joins us to share his amazing art in celebration of the fifteenth anniversary of the release of Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone,” reads Barnes & Noble’s description of the evening.
A quick check of B&N’s Events directory does not show any other appearances by Kibuishi in the country. However, more may be added as plans are confirmed.
We also do not know if Kibuishi will be signing any lithographs or books. We’ll update you when more information is made available.
Scholastic is republishing the Harry Potter books in paperback with all-new designs to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Sorcerer’s Stone and to appeal to a new generation of readers. You can see all seven new covers in our previous story.
This writer plans to attend the Barnes & Noble event and hopes to see you there!
