Speaking at the Breaking Bad red carpet premiere in Hollywood last night, lead star Bryan Cranston had tantalizing comments about the grand finale.
Cranston, who plays Walter White, told Zap2it that their highly-anticipated ending is “very appropriate,” adding that “You watch this — there’s no apologies. [Creator] Vince [Gilligan] was able to write to the ending that he wanted, and we’re very pleased with that.”
Gilligan was also interviewed and also feels very satisfied with the ending. “If we didn’t get it right it was nobody’s fault but ours,” he said. “So the big thought that kept going through my mind was let’s make this as good as we can make it. Let’s just bust our asses and make it as satisfying as possible.”

Obviously one long-standing issue we’re going to see resolved is Hank confronting Walt in some way about the case he’s been trying to crack for so long. Breaking Bad character portraits and group photos released earlier this week show stand offs between brother-in-laws Hank and Walt. In another photo, a pile of dirt and a shovel are standing in between Walt and his wife Skylar.
In a promotional video earlier this month, the cast spoke highly of the final episodes and promise “the biggest of bangs.”
Breaking Bad season 6, otherwise known as season 5b or “the final eight episodes,” premieres Sunday, August 11 on AMC.
