Divergent’s movie stars, director, and author will appear at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, July 18 and screen the first footage from the highly-anticipated book to film, Summit announced this morning.
Divergent stars Shailene Woodley (Tris), Theo James (Four), Miles Teller (Peter), Maggie Q (Tori), Ansel Elgort (Caleb), Mekhi Phifer (Max), Ben Lamb (Edward), Ben Lloyd-Hughes (Will) and Christian Madsen (Al) will appear on a panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, July 18 in the convention center’s coveted Hall H. They will be joined by series author Veronica Roth and director Neil Burger.
Divergent will also have a presence on the convention room floor, offering up “exclusive premium promotional items.” At the Summit booth, stars will sign autographs for fans.
The dystopian movie opens in theaters March 21, 2014. Divergent fans have much to look forward to besides Comic-Con in two weeks: The release of the third and final book in Roth’s trilogy Allegiant hitting store shelves this October and four short stories about Four over the next several months.

Summit is also hosting a panel for their upcoming book to film adaptation of Ender’s Game starring Asa Butterfield and Harrison Ford. The stars of the movie will be appearing in Hall H on the same day Divergent’s cast is.
With Ender’s Game, Catching Fire, Divergent, and one more yet-to-be-announced movie all hosting huge panels at Comic-Con, this year’s four-day pop culture event is shaping up to be the year of the YA book to film adaptation.
