Leading up to tomorrow’s big night, we wanted to showcase our favorite Oscar-winning speeches throughout recent memory! Did your favorite speech make the list?
There’s no doubt that one of the highlights of Oscar night is seeing the reaction of the winners. We get to watch as cinematic history is made every year live on television. In fact, this year, Hypable will be attending the Academy Awards and will have tons of great coverage of Hollywood’s favorite night.
So, while we have to wait to see if Jennifer Lawrence will talk about how she thinks acting is “stupid” if she wins for Silver Linings Playbook, we can look back at some of the more memorable, funny, sad, sentimental, beautiful speeches from Oscar nights past! Here are our top 5 Oscar-winning speeches in no particular order:
Julia Roberts – Best Actress (for ‘Erin Brokovich,’ 2001)
Whoopi Goldberg – Best Supporting Actress (for ‘Ghost,’ 1991)
Meryl Streep – Best Actress (for ‘Sophie’s Choice,’ 1983)
Jamie Foxx – Best Actor (for ‘Ray,’ 2005)
Halle Berry – Best Actress (for ‘Monster’s Ball,’ 2002)
