Nick Gomez has landed a spot within the upcoming eighth season of Dexter starring as Javier Guzman. But, who’s path will he cross?
Nick Gomez had a short life in The Walking Dead but it appears as though he may be featured throughout the majority of Dexter‘s eighth season.
Gomez has been given the role as Javier Guzman, and will more widely be referred to in the show as El Sapo. El Sapo appears to be more concerned with Debra rather than Dexter, when Debra begins to maneuver her way in between his plans and disrupting them considerable according to a report by TVLine.
The Walking Dead fans, who may also watch Dexter, will remember Nick Gomez’s crucial role in the development of Rick Grimes when they met in the prison. Gomez portrayed Tomas in the early episodes of season 3, when Rick and his team met the inmates who had locked themselves in one of the prison blocks. What we learnt from Gomez’s character is that he only has his own interests in mind, and is completely selfish with his actions. Could Gomez’s performance in The Walking Dead trigger the casting directors of Dexter to land him the role of El Sapo?
Dexter‘s formula throughout the seasons include many low life criminals which may seem like meaningless kills for Dexter, but they do indeed move Dexter’s character development forward as well as the storyline. We aren’t too sure whether Nick Gomez will play season 8’s antagonist, but he may have some very strong links with the antagonist. Although, Dexter surely has a little bit more on his mind right now rather than cleaning the streets of criminals after the finale of season 7.
What do you think about Nick Gomez’s casting role in the upcoming eighth season? Was his performance in The Walking Dead the decisive factor to portray El Sapo?
Dexter season 8 returns to Showtime on June 30th.
