That’s right, Supernatural is doing time travel again. Only this time, it’s not the Winchesters who will be hurtled through time.
According to Zap2It, the twelfth episode of Supernatural‘s eighth season, which will be titled “As Time Goes By,” will showcase the formating of an anti-demonic cult in 1958.
A man named Henry, who is described as “Robert Downey Jr. meets Cary Grant” as well as “dapper, smart, and considerably cocky,” will join the cult in order to protect his 7-year-old son. But when he accidentally opens a time portal, he ends up thrown forward into 2013.
He does not make the trip alone, though. He will be followed through time by Josie Sands, a 28-year-old “sexy, strong Katharine Hepburn type… with a secret.”
Sam and Dean, meanwhile, will be searching for “a bloodthirsty demon” when they come across Henry and Josie, who are out of place over 50 years in the future. Will we also see Henry’s son all grown up? No official word yet, but we’re betting so!
Though this is far from the first Supernatural episode to deal with time travel, this will be the first one in which one of the Winchesters hasn’t made the trek through time. Seasons 4 and 5 saw the Winchesters travel back in time to meet their parents. Season 6 sent them back to the wild West, and season 7 had Dean hunting Father Time in the 1940s.
