Lionsgate has announced the latest actor to join The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
Maria Howell will play Seeder. “A former victor from District 11, Seeder competes in the 75th Annual Hunger Games, also known as the Quarter Quell,” writes the studio.
Howell is best known for her role in The Color Purple as the choir soloist. She is an Atlanta-based actor, which is where Catching Fire will largely be filming.
Casting announcements for The Hunger Games sequel have been surfacing quickly and furiously. Other new members: Jena Malone as Johanna, Amanda Plummer as Wiress, Philip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch, Lynn Cohen as Mags, Meta Golding as Enobaria, Bruno Gunn as Brutus, Alan Ritchson as Gloss, and E. Roger Mitchell as Chaff.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hits theaters November 22, 2013.
