We recently reported that the CW had a Green Arrow pilot in the works, and it’s now been revealed that the network is also working on a Sex and the City prequel, entitled The Carrie Diaries, and a Beauty and the Beast modern-day remake.
TVLine reports:
The Carrie Diaries — which marks the second pilot pickup of the year for Gossip Girl EPs Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage — follows the the life of a high school-aged, pre-Sex and the City Carrie Bradshaw.
Beauty and the Beast, meanwhile, is loosely based on the 1980s sudser starring Linda Hamilton, but adding a modern-day procedural twist.
Earlier this month, The CW picked up its first pilot of the year, Cult, a thriller from the aforementioned Schwartz and Savage.
We learned that the CW had purchased both scripts in the fall, but the pilots have now officially been added to the upcoming season lineup.
