Disney’s Zootopia has taken all the biggest movies and singles from 2015 and Zootopi-fied them. It’s precious.
With Zootopia hitting cinemas on March 4, 2016, Disney is amping up its promotional campaign.
And the end of the year is the perfect time to look back at some of the biggest pop culture phenomena… and make hilarious spoofs.
Zootopia takes place in an imaginary city, where animals live together and interact like humans. Therefore, it makes sense that all their entertainment should be like ours, but with animals!
The movie posters poke fun at six of the year’s most iconic hits: Star Wars, Jurassic World, Straight Outta Compton, Cinderella, Ex Machina, and even Fifty Shades of Grey! Check them out in all their glory:
The promotional campaign, which very fittingly originated on Tumblr, also spoofs some of the year’s biggest music phenomena! We’ve got “Lagged Blood” by Taylor Sloth (Taylor Swift), Mark Rohnson (Slothson)’s “Uptown Skunk,” and of course “Hello” by Gazelle (Adele).
It’s just so cute, and makes us even more excited for Zootopia!
The movie features the voice talents of Ginnifer Goodwin, Idris Elba, Jason Bateman, Alan Tudyk, JK. Simmons, Octavia Spencer, and Jenny Slate. It looks to be a surefire hit for Disney, although the lackluster performance of Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur probably has the team a little bit worried.
Here’s the official synopsis for the movie… the real one, not one of the spoofs!
In the animal city of Zootopia, a fast-talking fox who’s trying to make it big goes on the run when he’s framed for a crime he didn’t commit. Zootopia’s top cop, a self-righteous rabbit, is hot on his tail, but when both become targets of a conspiracy, they’re forced to team up and discover even natural enemies can become best friends.
‘Zootopia’ premieres March 4, 2016.
