A second World War Z trailer starring Brad Pitt premiered today. In it, we see Pitt’s character Gerry Lane searching for the source of the zombie apocalypse that threatens his family and the rest of the world.
Gerry is a United Nations employee who’s on a worldwide mission to track down where the zombies (who can run and climb seemingly very quick) are coming from. Gerry’s theory is that if they can close off the source, their problems (like bringing down armies, governments, and humanity) will be solved.
This World War Z trailer features a climactic ending that makes us want to check out the film, because we have no idea how Pitt will escape out of the extremely frightening situation.
An interesting poster was also unveiled:
The screenplay was penned by Matthew Michael Carnahan based on the book of the same name by Max Brooks. The film stars Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, and David Morse. It hits theaters June 21, 2013. World War Z may enjoy a little ride of success thanks to both Pitt’s name and the recent string of zombie-themed successes like AMC’s The Walking Dead and the book to film adaptation of Isaac Marion’s Warm Bodies.
Is World War Z looking to be a summer hit?
