Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins has responded to some rumors that DC’s next big superhero outing is already a complete mess.
The rumor comes in the form of a brutally honest letter from a supposed former employee. It’s addressed to the CEO of Warner Bros., Kevin Tsujihara, and you can read the entire thing right here.
The letter talks about WB’s most recent “disaster,” that of DC’s Suicide Squad. Reviews have been mixed, but certainly not as scathing as they were for Batman v Superman. The movie has issues, and critics and fans alike recognize this, but many agree it’s another micro step in the right direction.
For “Gracie Law,” however, that doesn’t seem good enough. She criticized the studio, and especially Tsujihara, and even made a dig at Wonder Woman, stating:
What are you even doing? I wish to God you were forced to live out of a car until you made a #1 movie of the year. Maybe Wonder Woman wouldn’t be such a mess. Don’t try to hide behind the great trailer. People inside are already confirming it’s another mess. It is almost impressive how you keep rewarding the same producers and executives for making the same mistakes, over and over.
Ouch.
The comments should be taken with a grain of salt because we don’t know exactly who this person is, what their experience was, and why they’re so angry with the studio. If this person has an agenda, their claims could be unfounded.
And that’s what Wonder Woman’s director Patty Jenkins believes. In a series of tweets, she responds to the rumors, claiming they’re made up, and throws in a great WW reference for good measure.
Woah, just saw this press about WW having problems. Are they serious? This is some made up bs right here. Made up! Produce a source, anyone.

You can’t because it’s entirely false. Don’t believe the hype people. Someone’s trying to spread some serious misinfo.

Isn’t until you are intimately involved in these things that you realize how totally false these rumors can. Let me reassure you…

Zero about the movie we are making has been called a mess by anyone in the know. Fact.

Real lasso of truth, time, will reveal that letter to be false soon enough. But lame something so transparent in its agenda gets traction.

Honestly, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Wonder Woman were faltering given WB’s current track record.
That said, this movie is quite different from all of the ones that have come before it, and Patty Jenkins has been good about responding to issues she’s seeing in the media regarding her film. She giving a lot of fans hope that this movie will do the franchise justice.
We’ll have to wait until June 2, 2017 to find out for sure if Wonder Woman can save DC’s movie universe. They certainly need a hero, and who better than Diana Prince to save the day?
