It’s a big weekend for HBO. They have several high-profile programs airing between Saturday and Sunday, so they want to make it as easy as possible for non-subscribers to watch (read: not illegally download) ’em all.
The cabler has announced that the HBO channel on your digital cable box will be open to non-subscribers between Friday, April 22 and Monday, April 25. That means the following programs will be free to watch throughout the weekend:
Saturday, April 23
– 6:55PM/ET Pay-TV premiere of Jurassic World
– 9:00PM/ET World Premiere of Beyoncé’s HBO event Lemonade
– 10:00PM/ET World Championship Boxing: Golovkin vs Wade/Gonzalez vs. Arroyo
Sunday, April 24
– 9:00PM/ET Game of Thrones season premiere
– 10:00PM/ET Silicon Valley season premiere
– 10:30PM/ET Veep season premiere
– 11:00PM/ET A new episode of Last Week Tonight
In addition, another airing of Confirmation starring Kerry Washington, Wendell Pierce and Greg Kenner will air on Sunday at 12 p.m. eastern.
HBO says to check with your cable provider to learn more. Presumably they’re offering this free weekend so non-subscribers watch things like Thrones, Veep, and Silicon Valley, love them, get hooked in, and start paying.
