If you’re not a HBO subscriber or want to watch again, the first two Girls season 3 episodes are now online for free streaming.

Lena Dunham’s Girls season 3 had a strong start thanks to these first two episodes. The opening scene of episode 1 includes one of the best bits in the show’s history.

Read our recap of these first two episodes at this link. Girls stars Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, and Zosia Mamet. Season 3 has a twelve episode order (two more than the previous two seasons).

How do you think ‘Girls’ season 3 stacks up when compared to the previous two seasons, so far?

The first two episodes aired back-to-back on HBO Sunday night. New episodes air every Sunday at 10 p.m. eastern.

Beginning January 19, the show will be followed by the new drama Looking starring Jonathan Groff (read our review).

Speaking of new, HBO’s excellent detective drama True Detective airs the same night at 9 p.m. eastern (review/recap).

By releasing the first two episodes of Girls season 3 online, HBO will be able to reach new audiences who aren’t currently subscribed to their channel. HBO does not do this for every show, but Girls appeals to a primarily younger audience who will be searching for episodes of the show on the internet.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to look forward to new episodes released on YouTube every week. To watch from here on out, you’ll have to do so via your TV or HBO Go (with a subscription to the channel).
